Meet the Team


Nicolas Cornebise: Passionate about banks and emerging technologies, Nicolas was raised in a banking environment as a Swiss citizen. After obtaining a degree in business and economics at HEC Lausanne, he moved to Asia (Bangkok, Tokyo, Hong Kong), where he worked as a consultant for financial services during 2 years. Nicolas acquired a strong understanding of the risk and regulatory framework that banks are facing, especially with new actors in the market such as NeoBanks. 
He’s now pursuing his Masters in Management at IE Business School in Madrid with a specialisation in digital business. 


Alessandro “Alec” Casiraghi: Startup & Innovation enthusiast coming from an Economics and Business background with previous experience in the tech sector.  Always scouting for new opportunities and new trends in the market.

Max Epelbaum: Ambitious and always enthusiastic when it comes to the finance and technological industries. Max was Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela but obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Management and a minor in marketing at Bentley University in Massachusetts, United States. Max has obtained 2 years of experience both in the customer service/retail and Industrial sectors with a 1 year stints both in Enterprise Holdings in Massachusetts and St. Moritz Chocolatier the 3rd largest chocolate manufacturer in Venezuela. He is Currently pursuing a Masters in Management at IE Business School with a specialization in International Business.


Tianyu Jiang
With a big interest in the integration of technology and entertainment, Tianyu has a 1.5 year of working experience in venture capital where she partnered with very early-stage founders and gained a deep understanding of the internet ecosystem in China. Serving as the bridge between start-ups and capital, she has a strong passion for work coming from the clear goal which can be summarized by the ambition of Sequoia: Help the daring build legendary companies, from idea to IPO and beyond. She is currently pursuing a master degree in management at IE Business School with a specialization in digital business.



Ralph Brackel: Keen and fascinated by real estate finance Ralph has pursued a bachelor degree with a Major in Global Financial Management at Regent’s University London. Throughout various entrepreneurial project developments and concepts in real estate and working as an assistant valuer at Colliers International in The Netherlands, Ralph has obtained valuable insights and first-hand knowledge of the real estate industry of The Netherlands.  He’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in Management at IE Business School with a specialization in International Business. 



Lucrezia d’Arche: French-Italian and having grown up across Europe before pursuing her Bachelor's in management and psychology at McGill University, Lucrezia has worked for 1.5 years on various digital transformation projects at YourCompanionAgency, a unique startup in consulting based in Paris. This experience has increased her interest in new technologies and their implications on business strategies. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Management at IE Business school and pursuing a specialization in Digital Business.

Bye Bye Bank Manager?

Since 2005, the global financial service system has seen a changing landscape-the altered composition: a large proportion of the banking industry is now made up of players that did not exist a decade ago, especially in places like the UK. In Accenture ’ s 2017 report Start shifting: rapid evolution required , a survey shows that 63% of the British market was occupied by “ new players ” , a trend also seen in Canada (47%), Australia (38%) and the USA (19%). Benefiting from the wrecked reputation of high-street banks and the regulator ’ s favored treatment, neo banks have flourished in Britain. Now 9% of British adults and 15% of 18-to 23-year-olds now have a neo-bank account, according to a survey conducted by finder.com. A.T. Kearney also estimated in its European Retail Banking Radar 2019 that by 2023, Europe ’ s neo banks could have up to 85 million customers — about 20 percent of the population over the age of 14.
